What is guardDOG?

Also for some reason, I cannot figure out how to change the title of the page. So, for the record, it is not GuardDOG -- it's guardDOG.

After much hunting - I give up. It looks like mediawiki is just determined to capitalize the first letter no matter what.

How does it work?

Incoming requests are checked against a database of known bad guys. Anything that matches is logged and blocked using IPTables (Linux version).

The upcoming windows version will log and redirect to an empty page.

Upcoming Features and Versions

The original guardDOG was only for linux.

The new version will work with linux or windows. The difference being the windows version will only log the traffic and redirect to an empty page.

Some Features Aren't Working

We recently switched to a new server. It is a windows machine instead of a linux box so there is no iptables for blocking. I am working on adapting the system to work on windows now.
